In May East Midlands Airport, located 20 minutes from Derby in Castle Donington, saw a huge increase in passenger numbers compared to the same month last year. It has been reported that May 2016 saw 484,180 passengers travel through the airport, which is said to be a 4.5% increase on this time last year.
The good news is this is not the first time East Midlands Airport have seen an increase. May actually marks the 6 month in consecutive growth for the airport, meaning they are seeing more and more passengers pass through the airport every single month.
Andy Cliffe, who is Airport Managing Director, spoke to The Leicester Mercury about the airport’s continuing success. "As we approach the school holidays, which is the busiest time of the year, we are pleased to see continual growth here at East Midlands Airport.”
