Amplified by a 7% increase in passenger numbers at East Midlands in summer 2016 (4.6 million), it is predicted that the number of travellers using the facilities is only going to increase further in 2017 and therefore more jobs at the airport will be needed to accommodate. Held on January 28th, the annual job fair at at East Midlands Airport will host 14 companies from around the site. Staff from the airport itself will be in attendance and a special effort will be made on filling positions within cargo companies and passenger services (such as security, car parking & bar/restaurant service)
Jack Kelly, head of external affairs at East Midlands Airport, said:
"We've experienced an incredible year of growth during 2016 and we are expecting an incredibly busy summer this year.
"The job fair offers people a chance to talk to the companies based on site about the types of jobs on offer and get advice on how to make the most of your CV.
"Working at an airport is very exciting and with over 90 businesses on site employing around 7,000 people, it's a great place to develop yourself and your skills."
